Labour leaders and the Osun State Government have agreed to mend fences as payment of outstanding salaries for its workers as well as payment of deductions made from their salaries till June commences.

Both parties after reaching an agreement that the bailout fund will be used to offset all the outstanding workers’ salaries signed a new Memorandum of Understanding.

Addressing journalists ‎shortly after the meeting comprising of all labour union leaders in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, NLC State Chairman, Jacob Adekomi, explained that the payment covers arrears of March, April and May 2015 salaries for state workers and April, May, June for local government workers and primary school teachers.

Adekomi who further ‎noted that the deductions from September and December salaries as well as balance of January and February salaries will also be paid and that pensioners will also get their entitlements.

The Chief of Staff to the Osun State Government, Gboyega Oyetola said both parties are working out modalities to aid the Internally Generated Revenue to avoid a re-occurrence of non-payment of salaries.
