The Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has endorsed the nomination of the ministerial nominee from Oyo State, Bayo Shittu.
Governor Ajimobi, on Monday, joined Shittu’s supporters in endorsing his nomination.
While addressing groups of various concerns including some religious leaders from Oke Ogun, who trooped to his office in solidarity for Shittu’s nomination, Governor Ajimobi said that though he had reservations about Shittu’s nomination, he would not oppose him.
The Governor added that despite the fact that Shittu worked against him during the past election, he had forgiven him because the nominee had apologized.
Hundreds of people from Oke Ogun gathered at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan to show solidarity for Shittu’s nomination, saying those who opposed it did so for selfish political reasons.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state had earlier made their reservations public about Shittu’s nomination, claiming that he had embarked on various anti-party activities in the past.
