The Delta State Government has called on residents of areas likely to be affected by the flood to evacuate their buildings to upland or other safe areas.
The call was made on Monday by the State Government through the Committee on Flood in an interactive stakeholders’ meeting with members of the communities affected by the flood.
The Committee, which is constituted of the State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa and headed by the Deputy Governor, Kingsley Otuaro Brutu, is geared towards assessing the preparedness of the residents to shoulder emergencies arising from flood that is ravaging various communities in the state
The meeting had in attendance, security agencies; State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), National Orientation Agency (NOA), Local Government Council Chairmen in the state and other stakeholders.
