BabcockA multi million naira state of the art, Tristate Heart and Vascular Centre has berthed in Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State South West Nigeria.

The centre, which was launched on Thursday, October 22, is located within the university environment and is a collaboration between the Babcock University and the Tristate Cardiovascular Associates, a global leader in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in Africa.

The centre is equipped with modern and state of the art medical equipment such as cath. lab 5 access machine – one of the only three in the country, oxygen machine, open heart surgery machine, anaesthetic machine, heart lung machine, all manned by seasoned medical professionals.

It also boasts of a tastefully furnished intensive care unit.

The occasion also witnessed the inauguration of the Tristate Heart Foundation saddled with the responsibility of raising funds for the treatment of individuals in the society who cannot afford to pay for medical services.

Former governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande and the Chairman of Channels Television, Mr John Momoh, who are the foundation’s Chairman and Vice Chairman were present at the event.

The inauguration also attracted the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Joseph Sanusi, as well as seasoned medical practitioners from far and wide.
