A combined team of security operatives have recovered about 174 domestic animals from armed bandits in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, North West Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by Samuel Aruwan, who is the spokesman for the State Governor.
The statement said that the security operatives recovered the stolen animals from the bandits’ hideout located inside the deadly Lebere bush in the Local Government, following a tip off from some members of the public.
It further explained that the bandits on sighting the security team, took to their heels, abandoning their stolen animals.
However, it stated that investigation was in progress to apprehend the fleeing rustlers while the animals would be conveyed to the state distribution centre for identification and collection by their owners.
According to Aruwan, the recovered animals include 145 cows, 20 sheep and one donkey.
