The popular Oba Market in the Ekiti State’s capital, south-west Nigeria was gutted by fire few months ago.
Having lost properties worth millions of Naira to the inferno, the State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, who visited the market, promise to build an ultra-modern market for the people.
Governor Fayose, however, said the project was in line with the fulfillment of his promise.
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Lanre Ogunsuyi, disclosed that the government had paid compensations to all shop owners of the market.
Some of the traders, Olatunde Bolatito and Olowoyo Kolawole, said it was their hope that the State government would keep to its promise by completing the project in a short time.
