Yemi Osinbajo on Nigeria

Yemi-OsinbajoNigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has taken a swipe on the judiciary, saying its reputation has been negatively affected by judicial corruption and delays in justice delivery.

Professor Osinbajo made the statement in Abuja on Monday while delivering a keynote address at the opening ceremony of the 2015 All Nigeria Judges’ Conference organised by the National Judicial Institute.

The Vice President insisted that the judiciary must go the extra mile to sanitise itself and improve its capacity to act independently, courageously and timely.

The Administrator of the National Judicial Institute, Justice Rosaline Bozimo, in her address, advised judges to discharge their duties based on law, equity and good conscience regardless of which direction the political winds were blowing.

Justice Bozimo added that the integrity and impartiality of the nation’s courts must not be converted for the use of any extraneous interest.
