The House of Representatives has passed the 2016-2018 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper with some adjustments to the document and passed by the Senate.
The representatives considered the report presented by a joint committee set up to consider the documents and make recommendations to the House.
The House approved 12 of the 14 recommendations made by the joint committee deleting the recommendations that had to do with the arrears of 2015 fuel subsidy and the implementation of the Treasury Single Account.
The Chairman of the joint committee, Babangida Ibrahim, spoke on the fuel subsidy arrears that was deleted by the Representatives.
A conference committee was set up to harmonise the bill with the Senate and ensure that the document was passed in line with the Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007.
