The Federal Government is set to restructure the Solid Minerals Development Fund to reflect the investment drive in the sector.
The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, told a news conference that the federal government is yet to make any contribution into the fund since its establishment.
The fund was created by the Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act 2007 but the fund was formalized in 2013.
Dr Fayemi explained that the mission of the government is to make mining a business and drive private investments into the sector.
