NDLEA Reels Out Achievements In Ondo
Ondo State Command of the NDLEA in southwest Nigeria, which made the feat said it also confiscated 500 grammes of cocaine within the stated period.
The Ondo State Commandant, Mohammed Sokoto, who gave the report at the agency’s Headquarters, told reporters that 21 cannabis farmlands covering 323 acres were destroyed during the period.
He added that a total of 210 suspects were arrested out of which 35 were convicted.
Reacting to rumours that some NDLEA officials in Ondo State were conniving with drug dealers, Mr Sokoto maintained that they were untrue allegations.
He said: “Anyone with a valid proof should present it for such officers to be prosecuted”.
The Ondo State Commandant urged Ondo State residents to be courteous in merry making during the yuletide, cautioning that the command was monitoring all the towns and villages to ensure they were free of criminals.
