Saturday, January 9, 2016, 5:00pm: Voting has ended in all polling units in Bayelsa State and collation of results have started at the ward level in most parts of the state – Nembe, Ogbia, Brass and Southern Ijaw Local Government Areas.

Saturday, January 9, 2016, 10:52am: In Agudama-Epie District of Yenegoa Local Government Area of the state, accreditation and voting started and the eight polling units have been violence free.

Saturday, January 9, 2016, 10:35am: polls open in Bayelsa State. Voters begin accreditation and voting simultaneously.

Ahead of the election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revised its guidelines for the re-run, making it possible for accreditation and voting to go on simultaneously.

The security in Southern Ijaw Local Government is very tight as reported by Seun Okinbaloye.

Saturday, January 9, 2016, 10:30am: Channels Television, correspondent at the the Southern Ijaw Local Government, Seun Okinbaloye, said materials arrived at the polling unit 10 minutes earlier.

Saturday, January 9, 2016: 00:00am: Bayelsa State citizens above the age of 18 will come out and vote for the candidate of their choice.
