The Supreme Court has fixed March 18, 2016 judgment in the appeal filed by two Nigerians sentenced for being responsible for the production and sale of baby teething medication, ‘My Pikin’.
The drug allegedly killed at least 80 children due to its poisonous content, said to have been contaminated with engine coolant.
Production Manager, Abiodun Adeyemo and Quality Assurance Manager, Ebele Eromosele, were each sentenced to seven years in prison.
At the hearing of the appeal in Abuja, lawyer to Mr Adeyemo argued that the Court of Appeal erred in law to have affirmed the judgement of the Federal High Court sentencing the accused persons.
But lawyer to the Federal Government urged the court to dismiss the appeal.
