Yabatech Suspends Academic Activities

Authorities in Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) in Lagos State have suspended academic activities for four weeks.

This is in the wake of the death of Miss Charity Dazan, a student of the institution.

The academic board of the institution on Thursday announced the closure of the institution in order to allow the management, staff and students mourn the loss of the student.

The late Dazan was a student of Technology Management and said to be a sickle cell anaemia patient.

The school authority explained in a statement that the young lady died after she developed a relapsed crisis.

Before the sad incident, however, the school says students had asked for a two-week extension of the semester before their examination, but the incident has now forced the suspension of academic activities

The deceased student was reported to have been buried at Atan cemetery in Lagos.
