NdokwaSome youths in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State have protested the alleged neglect by an oil firm.

The youths laid siege right in front of the gates of Sterling Global, an oil firm located in Utagba Ugba kingdom in Kwale.

The President-General of Ndokwa Youths, Chukwuma Onyeka, accused the company of refusing to relocate its Corporate Head Office from Lagos State to the community where it operates.

He also decried the refusal of the company’s management to employ the youths of the community, who wish to be gainfully employed amidst other grievances.

One of the angry youths, Amos Yereyere, also explained that Sterling Global employed an insignificant number of indigenes compared to the number of foreigners that were gainfully employed.

The Community Liaising Officer of Sterling Global, EmEkaro Nwachukwu, who responded to the allegations made by the youths, did not necessarily deny them.

He said that the parties had resolved to meet with the Delta State government for further discussion on the matter.
