City will feel the boss, Manuel Pellegrini’s decision to field a weakened side in the FA Cup, with Sergio Aguero scoring the opener.
A slick move allowed David Silva to side-foot in a second as City dominated.
Vitaliy Buyalskiy pulled one back with a deflected shot but Yaya Toure curled in an effort to complete City’s win.
Having taken dominion of their Champions League last-16, it is hoped that City would give their best in England to proceed to the quarter-final of the competition.
On the other side, Atletico Madrid held PSV Eindhoven to a goaless draw in Netherlands.
The Dutch side will be travelling to Spain to battle Atletico Madrid for a place at the quarter-final.
