Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura, has flagged off the distribution of relief materials to over 50 villages affected by communal crisis in the state.

Speaking in company of top government functionaries, traditional rulers and security personnel during the flagging off ceremony at the Government House in Lafia, the Nasarawa State’s capital, Governor Al-Makura said that the occasion was first of its kind.

He added that it was part of his administration’s effort to alleviate the sufferings of those affected by communal crisis.

The Governor said that the occasion was a special one to appreciate the efforts of the people of the state in embracing peace.

He also lauded the Eggon nation, which recently pledged its support towards achieving peace in Nasarawa State and called on the people of Loko development area to sheath their swords and embrace peace.

The relief materials distributed included clinical materials and money to at least 50 villages affected by communal crisis to address their health and financial challenges.
