Work has reached an advanced stage at the new Ogere cow and pepper market located at Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The state government has intensified the clearing of the over 200 hectres of land meant for cow and pepper sellers who are being moved from Mile 12 and Kara markets.
While on the assessment tour of the market, the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, assured the traders of adequate security and prompt completion of the market project.
The market, located along the ever busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway is about 70km to Lagos and 47km to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
When completed, according to the State Governor, the market is to be provided with four boreholes, a fire station, modern shops and a modern abattoir.
The traders and their leaders have commended the state government for giving them a sense of belonging as market activities have commenced at the new market.
