Governor Udom Emmanuel has signed the Akwa Ibom State 2016 Appropriation Bill into law, with a total budget size of 423 billion Naira.
Governor Emmanuel signed the bill on Wednesday afternoon during a special EXCO session at the Governor’s office in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
With the budget now signed into law, he expressed determination that his administration would remain focused on the task of delivering democracy dividends to the people.
In his discourse, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Finance, Akan Okon, gave a summary of the budget.
A breakdown of the figure shows that a total of 94.963 billion Naira is for recurrent expenditure while 243 billion Naira is for capital expenditure.
