Akwa Ibom State Governor has called on Christians to cultivate the virtues of love and reconciliation as taught by Jesus Christ through his crucifixion for the redemption of mankind.
Governor Udom Emmanuel made the remark on Friday at a special Christian service at United Evangelical Church in Uyo to mark Good Friday.
Governor Emmanuel reminded Christians that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of Christianity, noting that every believer should use the season to show love and forgiveness to another.
He said that through redemption of mankind, believers should be at peace with one another.
In his homily, Reverend Udeme Akpan charged believers to solemnly remember the atonement of Lord Jesus Christ and His great sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.
He urged Christians to use the season to dedicate their lives to being steadfast in their relationship with God and fellow Nigerians.
Prayers were offered for Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.
The service was attended by top government officials in the state.
