The Chief of Air Staff says the Nigerian Air Force is now properly positioned to effectively check the menace of insurgents in the northeast.
Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar gave the assurance on Thursday when he visited the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, at the Government House in Uyo.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the Air Force to return normalcy to the northeast and all other parts of the country affected by the activities of the Boko Haram terrorists.
Air Marshal Abubakar said that the Nigerian Air Force is considering the establishment of an operation base in Akwa Ibom State to further enhance the performance of its constitutional responsibilities.
In his response, Governor Emmanuel acknowledged the contributions of the Nigeria Air Force to maintain peace and security in the country.
The Akwa Ibom State Governor also used the medium to call on Nigerians to have continued confidence in the force.
The Chief of Air Staff was accompanied by other senior officers of the Nigerian Air Force.
