The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has relieved two of the suspended lawmakers of their principal offices and also dismissed them from their various committees.
The decision is coming days after their suspension and other issues led to a crisis that resulted in fisticuffs.
During a sitting of the House members, the Speaker, Abdullahi Balarabe, made it clear that their dismissal was a decision of the All Progressives Congress’ caucus of the House which is the majority in the House.
All suspended lawmakers are members of the party.
He said that two lawmakers had been appointed to occupy the principal offices and some others to chair their various committees.
In the earlier sanction, the six suspended lawmakers are to receive half salaries with no allowances.
Two of the suspended lawmakers are principal officers of the house and all of them are chairing various committees.
On April 4 lawmakers disagreed on the Governor’s appointment of sole administrators to man affairs of the local government councils in the state. The disagreement resulted in the exchange of blows.
After more sanctions were imposed on them, one of the suspended lawmakers, Makpa Malla, told Channels Television that they were looking up to the party to intervene.
He said they also they believe their dismissal was a harsh decision and that they would seek redress in the court in that regards.
