Aramide-Love MeAramide says the song, ‘Love Me’ was inspired by weddings, many of which she attended about the time the song was composed.

The Afro-soul singer recently revealed this during an interview with Entertainment News on Channels Television.

“I think I attended too many weddings a couple of years ago and I just wanted to create a song that people (DJs) could play at weddings and people would listen to and fall in love and feel a certain type of way and all that,” she said.

The video for the song, which was released early April has garnered about 70,000 views.

About her collaboration with Adekunle Gold, the first in her career, Aramide said that she wanted to make sure her brand was recognisable and distinct before working with other acts.

“I wanted people to just know me, my voice (and) my music, before bringing other people into it …,” she said.

The rising star, who admitted she had had tough times pursuing music, said that she was working her way up to the unveil of her yet to be titled debut album which would be ‘soulful’.

“The album is going to be very interesting” and “it is going to define me as an artiste, my style and the various things I stand for as a person,” she said.
