The highly anticipated event which took place on Tuesday left Mr Trump with the majority of votes counted as he looks forward to extending his lead over rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich.

The American businessman looked set to take nearly all the 95 Republican delegates at stake.

He said on BBC that his nearest rival, Ted Cruz was “just about mathematically eliminated”.

On the democrat side, Mrs Clinton said that her democratic nomination was in sight after victory over Bernie Sanders.

With more than 98% of the results in, Trump is leading with at least 60% of the vote while Clinton has just under 58%.
