The Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura has commended the Federal Government for the construction of a military barrack in Doma Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor gave the commendation when he stopped over at the ongoing construction site of the barrack while on a tour of rural road projects in the southern senatorial district of the state.
Governor Al-Makura believes the barracks will improve security operations and minimise the challenges facing the state and neighbouring states.
The Governor commended the Federal Government and the Army for the gesture, as he believes it will improve the security situation of the north-central region.
The tour is also to identify some areas in dire need of culverts and bridges before the rain sets in.
While on the tour, the Governor revoked a contract for the construction of a General Hospital in Awe Local Government Area for being abandoned for over two years.
The Governor and his team inspected the Daddere Water Works where he called on residents to compliment the efforts of the government.
Governor Al-Makura also assured the people of rural areas that the provision of basic amenities for them was one of the centre piece of his second tenure.
