Akwa Ibom Police Parade Suspected Killer Of Dr. Ivy Umana

Ivy Umana, AKwa IbomA 28-year-old man, Silas Henry, has confessed to the murder of Dr. Ivy Umana, who was Head of the Department of Pathology, University of Uyo Teaching Hospital.

The man, who is in Police custody, made the confession on Tuesday while answering questions from journalists at the Police headquarters, Uyo.

Parading the suspect, the Akwa Ibom State Police Commissioner, Murtala Mani, represented by the Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Cordelia Nwawe, said that the late Dr. Ivy Umana was murdered in her apartment at Shelter Afrique Estate in Uyo on April 20, 2016.

She added that the arrest of the suspect in Abia State was a result of detailed investigation and synergy between the Police and other security agencies.

Four other suspects, including a woman, were also paraded for alleged murder and robbery. The suspects also confessed their involvement in the crimes.

The PPRO, Cordelia Nwawe, used the occasion to restate the command’s commitment to the security of lives and property in the state.
