Youth Council President Released, Vows To Fight For Nigerian Youths’ Rights

The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Mr Ikenga Ugochinyere, has vowed to focus on fighting for the rights of the Nigerian youths.

Addressing reporters in Abuja on Monday after he was released, Mr Ugochinyere said that the Department of State Services detained him for about a month on the grounds that his views on national issues were not in tandem with the philosophy of the government of the day.

Mr Ugochinyere, who is also the Senior Special Assistant on Youth and Students Affairs to the Senate President, observed that he would continue to defend his views where necessary.
