The Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura has inaugurated a twenty three man committee, with an inclusion of the organised labour to look into the review of the state salary structure in line with the consensus of the stakeholders’ forum held recently.
The governor who spoke at the council chambers of the Government House in the presence of the Executive and Legislative members said the decision is as a result of the global economic downturn which has affected allocations accruing to the state.
He added that the situation is worsened with an oversight by the committee that worked out the implementation of the minimum wage in 2011, which led to a wrong adoption by the government.
The committee chaired by the State Commissioner of Justice, Barr. Yusuf Shehu was directed to ascertain the revenue accruing to the state and also the thirteen Local Government Councils among other terms of reference which is expected to report in one week
