The maiden edition of the Financial Literacy Excellence Awards (FILEX) was held in Lagos and it was indeed a gathering of key players in the financial industry.

Under one roof, they gathered to reward excellent people and organisations working to improve financial literacy in Nigeria.

It was an evening of fun and relaxation, with good music to go with it.

FILEX is under the auspices of one of Nigeria’s foremost Non-Governmental Organisations, the Development Initiatives Network headed by the convener, the Executive Director of the Network, Dr Bola Fajemirokun.

On the memorable evening, four awards were given out, three to Nigerian corporate organisations and one for an individual who has excellently distinguished himself/herself in the advocacy of financial literacy based on their different intervention initiatives in Nigeria.

The FILEX Awards organisers hope to continue to recognise the unrelenting efforts of those organisations and individuals who have over the years committed time, resources and energy to the work of financial literacy advocacy with a view to entrenching enduring economic development in the country.
