The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has advocated for better policies to ensure cattle rearing has an agricultural business outlook in order for it not to be peculiar to a certain tribe.

The Governor made the call during an interaction with journalists on his fifth year in office.

Mr Ahmed noted that lack of appropriate policies has been responsible for the constant clashes between the Fulani herdsmen and farmers in the country.

He added that cattle rearing should be integrated into the agricultural sector in the country and made a commercial venture open to all Nigerians and not peculiar to a certain tribe.

If implemented down to the local government levels, the clashes would be drastically reduced if not eliminated, he said.

Governor Ahmed also condemned the act of pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta and called for dialogue between the federal government and Niger Delta militants.

He said that instead of the destruction of what would benefit the whole nation, they should sit in a round table discussion to air and settle their grievances.
