Kwara PoliceThe Police in Kwara State have arrested and paraded six suspected cultists in an effort to get rid of cult activities in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Sam Okaula commented while the suspects were being paraded that the Kwara State Police had earlier fixed a 50 million naira reward for any information concerning the whereabouts of the suspects.

There was a clash sometime last year between two rival cults around Idi Ajia and Agbarere area of Ilorin where several houses were destroyed.

The Police declared the suspected ringleader, Olatunji Ibrahim popularly known as Ariyo wanted with a 50 million naira reward for whosoever had any information about his whereabouts.

Almost a year after, the Police have been able to arrest and parade Ariyo alongside two other accomplices.

The Commissioner also added that the determination of the Police led to the setting up of a special investigation team which were able to nab the three men in their hideout.

The suspected cultist spoke in Yoruba during the interview and admitted being part of the group responsible for burning down houses.

The Police also paraded a staff of Landmark University, David Ogundele who was accused of murdering his girlfriend and her mother because she refused his marriage proposal.

The Commissioner of Police said that the people of Kwara should continue providing information that could lead to the arrest of criminals in order to rid the state of troublemakers.
