Osagie-EhanireNigeria’s Minister of State for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, is appealing for patience, as the Federal Government looks into the issues at stake.

The Minister appeal is coming on the heels of last month’s suspended nationwide warning strike by resident doctors.

He made the appeal on Monday at the commissioning of three newly completed projects at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos.

Dr. Ehanire explained that it would take some time to harmonise the issues and also make financial provisions that would address the health workers’ demands.

“I said before that some of these issues are inherited issues. They are not issues that started with this regime.

“We are trying to understand reasons for their dissatisfaction and try to find solutions,” he said.

Dr Ehanire pointed out that the issues could have arose as a result of errors in communication, of understanding and interpreting circulars and the migration into the uniform payment system.

He said that conversation was ongoing and believed that it would yield result in good time.
