Operatives of the Kaduna State Joint Security Outfit known as ‘Operation Yaki’ have recovered over 600 cattle and other animals stolen by rustlers in various parts of the state.
Speaking to journalists during the handover of the recovered animals to their owners, the Special Adviser to the Kaduna state Governor on Security and Coordinator of the security outfit, Yakubu Yusuf, said the rustlers were intercepted by security operatives while fleeing with the stolen animals inside the forest.
He explained that the recovery was made possible through intelligence information from members of the public, while he said that a notorious rustler was equally arrested during the operation.
He applauded the contribution of men of the Nigerian Police and Army for their role in ensuring that activities of rustlers and other criminals are reduced to the barest minimum across the state.
The recovered animals include cows, donkeys, sheep and goat.
Owners of the recovered animals applauded Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s administration for making efforts to stop the activities of rustlers in the state.
