Anambra Goes Digital As Govt. Completes Aerial Mapping Of State

May DayThe Governor of Anambra State, Mr Willie Obiano, has sworn in the youngest Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget and Development Partners.

The swearing in ceremony of the new commissioner took place during the State Executive Council Meeting at the Government House, Awka.

On the choice of Mr Okoye for the position being the youngest commissioner in Nigeria, Governor Obiano said: “His appointment is consistent with my insistence on quality, merit and his youth-friendly stance”.

He stated that the Commissioner had been a key member of the state’s Economic Team and had played very strategic role in the development of the economic blueprint of the state.

The Governor tasked him on bringing his wealth of academic knowledge and experience in financial management to bear in his new assignment.

The Director of Civil Litigation of the Ministry of Justice, Mr Apata Adebayo, administered the oath of office and allegiance on the new commissioner.

The Commissioner’s appointment was confirmed last week by the Anambra State House of Assembly after serving as the Special Adviser on Economic Planning and Budget to the Governor.

The 30-year-old Commissioner is to continue to show expertise and professionalism in the discharge of his duties in his newly appointed Ministry.

The Commissioner commended the Governor for his appointment which was a bold statement on the abundant potentials that abound in Nigerian Youths and on the need for government at all levels to give them a chance.

He assured that he would ensure that the State remained progressive in its economic policies though his appointment. His appointment brings the number of commissioners to 19 in Anambra State.
