The Cross River State Government says it is doing all within its powers to see to the immediate release of the kidnapped white expatriates unharmed.
The State’s Security Adviser, Jude Ngaji, said this on Thursday while reacting to the new crime rate in Cross River State, south-south Nigeria.
He said the state government is working hand-in-hand with heads of security agencies to see to the release.
Mr Ngaji also sued for calm among all white residents in the state, reassuring the public of a safe and peaceful Cross River State.
The expatriates were said to have been kidnapped at gun point in the early hours of the day along the Idundu Bridge in the outskirts of Calabar, the state capital.
A driver was killed during the incident, while Police confirmed that two of a total of seven abducted later escaped.
