PoliceThe Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the retirement of 21 Assistant Inspectors General of Police.

The officers were senior to the new Acting Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, prior to his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Among those affected are former Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr Umar Manko, and Mr. Joseph Mbu who became popular following his controversial tenure as Commissioner of Police in Rivers State in 2014.

In a statement, the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Mike Okiro, congratulated the affected officers for their service to the nation and wished them well in their new endeavour.
