Ibrahim Idris, Police, Extra Judicial KillingsThe Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim K. Idris, has felicitated with the Muslim Faithful on the occasion of the 2016 Eid-el-Fitri.

He noted that he was particularly thankful to Allah for His mercies during the period of the Ramadan, saying our prayers and supplications were met inspite of the numerous challenges that we faced as a nation, assuring  that the Nigeria Police Force will provide adequate security with robust and proactive patrols during and after the celebrations.

In a press statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Don Awunah, the “IGP has also ordered all Zonal Headquarters and Command Commissioners of Police to ensure adequate security in their areas of responsibilities throughout the duration of the celebration.

He warns that officers should be deployed evenly to cover the highways, worship and recreation centres, government installations and all vulnerable points are in order to give Nigerians feasible sense of safety and security as they celebrate the Eid-el-Fitri and go about their lawful business”.

He added that the Nigeria Police Force under his watch will be a people-oriented and problem solving Police and nobody should be afraid to give useful information to the Police as every information will be treated with the confidentiality it deserves.

He enjoined Nigerians to be law abiding at all times for the peace, progress and development of the country, reiterating that the cooperation of the public is very critical to the performance of the Police and administration of justice.
