The long arm of the law has caught up with a 28-year-old man named Sunday Wali who has been accused of being a fake soldier claiming to belong to the Nigerian Army.
The Army said that the man, who is a civilian, has been parading himself as a soldier in Akure, Ondo State Capital.
Parading the suspect in Akure, the Public Relations Officer of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Akure, Captain Ojo Adelegan, said that the fake soldier has been going around in Army uniform.
He added that investigations carried out revealed that he had been involved in many robbery cases and items such as Police identity card, Army uniforms and stickers were discovered in his house.
The Army Spokesman warned members of the public to be wary of people with such dubious character and report such to law enforcement agencies.
The alleged fake soldier said he hails from Kogi State. He claimed that he used to be in the Nigerian Army but could not disclose his service number.
