The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has called on youths in the country to shun all forms of violence that can cause crisis.

Zonal Commander in charge of Zone D, Mrs Abosede Mercy, said this on Wednesday during a routine visit to the Niger State Command.

She stressed the need for religious leaders to preach and educate their followers on the importance of peaceful coexistence.

“Nigeria youth must understand that they are brothers and must be their brothers’ keeper. Instead of instigating crisis or taking laws into their hands, they should preach peace ‎and build cordial relationship.

“The only thing Nigerians must imbibe now is true peace, love for one another and we must all shun every form of violence,” she said.

Mrs Mercy said that the NSCDC, especially her Zone, is making concerted efforts to revitalise intelligence gathering and personnel mobility.

She added that as part of plans to improve the services of the Corps in Niger State, the Command would soon relocate to a more befitting building that will accommodate its staff in the state.
