Police, Militants, BakassiThe new Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Mr Olushola Amore has assured that he would focus on community policing to ensure criminals find it difficult to operate within the state.

While taking over from the outgoing colleague, Sam Okaula, the new police boss urged the police personnel to develop a good relationship with the civilian population to bring criminality to the barest minimum.

He added that there will be community policing and without harmonious relationship with the civilian community, it might be difficult for the police to achieve success in the fight against crime.

At the Government House where both the old and the new police helmsmen paid a courtesy call to the governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, the former State Commissioner of Police, Sam Okaula thanked the governor for his assistance to the modest achievement recorded during his stay and called for more, for his successor.

The governor while responding applauded the achievement of the out going police boss assuring of his readiness to extend same to the new one.

He further described ideas of the new police boss as a welcome development which will enhance a good relationship with the civilians and drastically reduced crimes in the state.

The governor also expressed his readiness to support the new Commissioner of Police in whatever capacity despite the lean resources in the state.
