Boko Haram, Nigerian Army, Coup PlanThe General Officer Commanding, One Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade, says no amount of blackmail or attack against his officers by criminals will stop the army from discharging its constitutional role of maintaining the unity and security of the nation.

The warning is coming on the heels of accusations by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) that the army committed extra-judicial killings against their members in Zaria in 2015.

General Oyebade, who emphasized that despite loosing 12 soldiers during a military operation in Niger State recently, maintained that the Nigerian Army will never compromise its mandate or allow any unlawful group to threaten the nation’s territorial integrity.

While assuring that the Nigerian Army will always discharge its duties in line with the rule of engagement, General Oyebade cautioned such groups from misleading the public with unsubstantiated allegations.
