APC OndoThe All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured aspirants for the Ondo State governorship election that there will be no preferential treatment for any of them ahead of the August 27 primaries.

The National Chairman of the APC, Mr John Oyegun, made the pledge when he met with the aspirants at the national secretariat in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The governorship aspirants had accused the party chairman in Ondo State, Mr Isaac Kekemeke, of adopting and endorsing an aspirant, as well as tampering with the delegates’ list.

They had locked up the party’s state secretariat few days back in protest of the alleged doctoring of the list.

The peace meeting which took place on Saturday was convened to settle all disputes and allay the fears of a preferred candidate by the APC.

Mr Oyegun promised to present the delegates’ list that would be used for the primaries to the aspirants on Wednesday, August 24.

Only 24 aspirants were at the party secretariat for the peace meeting.
