Abdulmumin Jibrin, budget padding, Presidential Advisory Committee On CorruptionFormer Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Honourable Abdulmumin Jibrin, has met with the Presidential Advisory Committee on Corruption over the budget padding saga.

The purpose of the meeting was to brief members of the committee on the details of the allegations he made against the leadership of the House of Representatives and nine other lawmakers.

The meeting was held behind closed-doors on Wednesday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital and lasted for about four hours.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, Honourable Jibrin said his allegations were not about settling scores with the Speaker of the House, Honourable Yakubu Dogara.

However, he said they were made to ensure that a comprehensive reform was done to clean up the budgeting system in the National Assembly.

The lawmaker also noted that his submission of corruption allegations against the House leadership to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) did not grant him any immunity.

He said he would readily submit himself for investigation.

The former House Appropriation Committee Chairman had submitted enough documents to the anti-graft agencies, accusing Speaker Dogara and nine other lawmakers of padding the 2016 budget.

He had told Channels Television in an exclusive interview that some of the documents would nail some of his colleagues he mentioned earlier in the padding saga.
