Ekiti Assembly Suspends Lawmaker For 180 Days

The former chairman of Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Gboyega Aribisogan, has been suspended by the House for 180 legislative days.

The lawmaker was accused by his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of anti-party activities.

It was alleged that Mr Aribisogan has been meeting with opposition party members in the state.

The member representing Ikole Constituency 1 was on Wednesday removed from his position as Chairman of the House Committee on Information and replaced with the member representing Oye Constituency 1, Samuel Omotoso.

Speaker of the House, Rt Hon, Kola Oluwawole, affirmed the suspension of Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan.

He has been warned not to come close to the state assembly complex within the period of his suspension

However, the embattled lawmaker denied the allegation against him. He said that he would seek redress on the matter.
