School Kidnap: Abductors Of Students, Officials In Lagos Make Demands

The abductors of vice principals, a teacher and pupils of Lagos State Model College in Igbo Nla in Epe area of Lagos have demanded 100 million Naira ransom for the victims to regain freedom.

A source told Channels Television on Friday that the gunmen alleged to be from the south-south region headed towards Ogbere River to link up the Ogun River.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said that efforts were on to rescue others as more operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad and the decoy marine team in search of the victims.

The men, alleged to be heavily armed, were said to have invaded the college whisking away the victims.

Two of the eight people kidnapped from school were rescued on Thursday by the Police operatives.

Meanwhile, nine suspects have been arrested over last week’s abduction of the wife of the Central Bank Governor, Margaret Emefiele along Benin-Agbor road.

The suspects who were arrested with millions of Naira by officers of the intelligence response team in Edo, Delta and Benue states are one each from Delta and Benue states and six Fulanis.

One more suspect has also been arrested in the kidnap of some landlords in Isheri, a border community between Lagos and Ogun state.

The latest arrest brings to five the number of suspects in police custody.
