David Seaman, Arsenal, Arsene WengerFormer England goalkeeper, David Seaman, has called for the contract renewal of Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger.

The erstwhile Gunners’ goalkeeper made the call during an interview on Thursday in Manchester, where he was inducted in the National Football Museum’s ‘Hall of Fame’.

“I hope he (Wenger) stays; they should go all out to keep him.

“It doesn’t work out straight away every time,” he said.

The 53-year-old UK-born cautioned fans of the North London club to be cautious what they wish for.

He cited the difficulties Manchester United face since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013 as prove to his recommendation.

“Manchester United have struggled a little bit since Sir Alex left.

“They have changed managers again and have a great one now, but Arsenal have a great manager already,” he noted.

Seaman won three league titles, four FA Cups and a League Cup during his 14 years stay at Arsenal.

On his part, Wenger has won nine major trophies with the Gunners and celebrated 20 years at the club on September 30.

His contract expires at the end of the season and discussions are yet to take place about him staying on.

The North Londoners won their last seven games with a brilliant 6-0 win over Ludogorets in Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League.
