Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo says he shares the same view with the people and government of Ekiti state on the need for the federal government to establish an airport in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
He explained that this has become a necessary project in wake of the ongoing development across the state.
The Vice President was speaking on Friday at a forum in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, where he stated that the establishment of an airport in the state will boost the states’s socioeconomic development.
Governor Ayodele Fayose had earlier in his speech asked the federal government to include funds for the airport project in its 2017 budget.
He added that his administration was ready to provide all the necessary support required to achieve the project.
Past administrations in Ekiti state have attempted to ensure the establishment of an airport project, but none has been successful.
