13 Soldiers, Police Officer Killed In Boko Haram Ambush

Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Military Location In Northern Borno Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have attacked a 119 Battalion Nigerian Army location at Mallam Fatori, northern Borno state.

According to the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, the troops repelled the attack and killed 14 Boko Haram terrorists.

However, five soldiers were killed in the attack while other soldiers sustained various degrees of injuries during the encounter.

One of those killed in action, according to Colonel Usman, was the Commanding Officer of 272 Task Force Tank Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abu Ali.

The Army spokesman said that because of Colonel Ali’s exceptional bravery and gallantry, he was recently given an accelerated promotion from the rank of Major to Lieutenant Colonel and was decorated by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai at Gamboru Ngala on September 9, 2015 during an operational visit.
