niger state house of assemblyNiger State government has approved a contract for the expansion of the State House of Assembly at the total cost of 445.237 million Naira.

The government says its expansion will aid effective and efficient service delivery of the members’ mandate to the people.

The Commissioner for Works and Rural Development, Honourable Abdulmalik Cheche, gave the figure on Thursday after the state council met at the Government House in Minna.

He said that it was the responsibility of the government to create enabling atmosphere for the three arms of government to strive.

Mr Cheche noted that the contract includes: all the lawmakers’ offices, their Secretaries offices, office complex of the State Assembly Commission and a medical clinic.

The Commissioner further explained that the expansion had a new design with a good concept and that it take 12 dry months (one year) to finish it.

He also stated that the memo had been presented for ratification.

The State Council also approved the construction of a police post at the cost of 14 million Naira in Yakila, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, with a view to improving the security of lives and property in the area.
