Aminu Returns From 13-Game Injury Lay-Off

AminuD’Tigers forward, Al-farouq Aminu, has missed his 5th straight game in the National Basketball Association (NBA), following a calf injury.

The 26-year-old Nigerian, strained his calf on Tuesday in a non-contact injury against the Phoenix Suns, and did not suit up for Saturday’s defeat against the New Orleans pelicans.

Without the player in the starting line-up, Portland has struggled in both offensive and defensive efficiency categories and the team is likely to remain without him for at least the next two weeks.

AminuAminu is the Blazers’ most versatile defender, averaging 6.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 26.1 minutes in eight games this season.

He is equally one of their best rebounders and the team does not have many options to replace what he offers.

Noah Vonleh has, however, started in Aminu’s place, against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, but Stotts said his starting lineup will likely remain fluid until Aminu returns.
