Akeredolu Campaign Takes Empowerment Scheme To Akure IndigentsFew hours to the November 26 Ondo state governorship election, the All Progressives Congress has intensified efforts to win the people to its side.

One of such efforts is an empowerment programme which saw 100 indigent people in Akure town empowered with various amounts of money.

The event, which held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, was initiated by the Chairman, Akeredolu Support Organization, Tunji Ariyomo, to support the APC governorship candidate, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

The three categories of beneficiaries were students of tertiary institutions who were given bursaries to support their education, market women who got interest-free loans to boost their businesses and the physically challenged.

Speaking at the occasion, Ariyomo stressed the need to vote for APC in the governorship election, saying the advantages of doing so could not be quantified.

“There are many laudable projects initiated by previous administrations like the Olokola free trade zone project and many others that would have provided thousands of our youths with good jobs but were abandoned by the present administration.

“Akeredolu will correct this and complete the projects so as to provide jobs for our youths,” Ariyomo said.

While reacting to the gesture, some of the beneficiaries thanked the Akeredolu Support Organization for this laudable scheme which they said would go a long way in bringing succor to their lives.

One of them, Ogunbameru Oladayo, a student of the University of Maiduguri, particularly thanked the initiator of the scheme. He described him as a true leader, a motivator and a pathfinder for the teeming youths of Ondo State.
